Renato Machelett

I'm a freelance IT consultant in Karlsruhe. My career began in telecommunications in 1991; I've worked in software since 1994. My work has included embedded automotive platforms (I helped drive the ISO standardization of MOST, now ISO 21806), ERP consulting and project management, and process optimization for mid-sized companies.

Formal methods, V-Model, agile: I've worked in whatever framework the project demanded, and occasionally in the one it merely claimed to use.

I love creating documentation and training materials: working out how to explain a concept, which details need attention, and how they fit together. Finding the right explanation can be as absorbing as solving the technical problem itself.

Off duty I swim, run, and maintain my own Linux server. Partly for fun, partly on the theory that you shouldn't take infrastructure advice from someone who has never broken his own.
